Upright Meaning
Represents conflict, defeat, hollow victory, and self-sabotage. It suggests winning a battle at a great cost, feeling humiliated, or engaging in arguments that leave everyone worse off.
Reversed Meaning
The hollow victory loses its shine. You won, or you got your way, and looking at the aftermath you can see what it cost. Sometimes the resolution here is accepting that you would rather have the relationship than be right, and sometimes it is accepting that the win was never worth what you spent to get it.
Deeper Exploration
Think of a conflict you won. What did winning actually get you, and what did it cost? If the answer makes you uncomfortable, that discomfort is more honest than the victory felt, and it is pointing at something the win could not deliver.
