Upright Meaning
Symbolizes possessiveness, security, control, and holding onto resources. It suggests a need for financial security, but also a tendency to be overly guarded or resistant to sharing.
Reversed Meaning
The grip loosens. You have been holding so tightly to what you have that the holding has become the problem, and now something is slipping whether you like it or not. Control over resources can turn into a cage built from the very things you were trying to protect, and the cage was never outside you.
Deeper Exploration
What are you afraid would happen if you loosened your grip? Write it down. Most of the fears we carry about money and security are stories, and the stories are usually older than the current situation, inherited from a time when the threat was real and the grip was necessary.
