Upright Meaning
Represents anxiety, worry, nightmares, and despair. It signifies intense mental anguish, sleepless nights, and being consumed by fear or guilt, often self-created.
Reversed Meaning
The middle-of-the-night fears lose their grip. The worries that felt catastrophic in the dark look smaller in the morning light, and you can finally see that most of them were stories you told yourself rather than things that had actually happened or were going to.
Deeper Exploration
Write down the worry that has been keeping you up. Next to it, write what you actually know to be true. The gap between the two is where your mind has been living, and it is almost always wider than it feels at three in the morning.
